On September 28th (Thursday), a career fair was held for the students of the Computer Science Department of COMSATS University Islamabad, a public university in Pakistan which is renowned for its strong research achievements as well as for its practical curriculum. The event introduced the initiatives related to advanced IT technologies as well as job opportunities available in Japanese companies.

From Plus W, three members namely Mr. Shiono, Head of the Pakistan Japan Center together with Mr. Umair, Vice Head of the Pakistan Japan Center and Mr. Talha, Consultant, took the stage and gave presentations on various topics such as applications the growing demand for IT professionals in Japan in recent years, of state-of-the-art in artificial intelligence led by Japanese companies, job openings available for engineers and data scientists.

The event was attended by around 200 people, far exceeding the initial expectations of a 100 participants. During the Q&A session, the event venue was filled with enthusiasm from the start to the end, with questions about not only the Japanese IT industry or job opportunities, but also Japanese culture, such as anime and drama.

Starting with this event, we will further strengthen our relationship with COMSATS University as well as with other universities across Pakistan and promote the further expansion of opportunities for Pakistani IT professionals and for Pakistani IT companies to play active roles in Japanese companies.

Furthermore, based on the selection by the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) for the "New Business Creation Promotion Support Project in Emerging DX Countries", this initiative is being implemented as part of a demonstration for the development of advanced IT professionals, with a focus on IT, Japanese language and culture, in the field of human resource development of Pakistan, as well as to promote their matching with Japanese companies.
