On September 21 (Thursday), Plus W signed an MOU with UCP (University of Central Punjab, commonly and hereinafter referred to as “UCP”) in Pakistan, which has strengths in technology, such as electronics engineering and computer science, as well as in business administration.

Mr. Shiono, Head of the Pakistan Japan Centre, and Mr. Umair, Vice Head of the Pakistan Japan Centre, participated as presenters and talked about their own projects as IT engineers, in addition to information on the initiatives of major Japanese companies upcoming that utilize advanced technology and job opportunities for engineers and data scientists. The Q&A session lasted an hour and a half, far longer than the scheduled one-hour session, as questions popped up one after another from the participating students.

With this event, we will further strengthen our relationship with University of the Punjab and other universities in Pakistan, and promote opportunities for Pakistani IT professionals and Pakistani IT companies to work in Japanese companies.

Based on the selection by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) for the “New Business Creation Promotion Support Program for DX in Emerging Countries,” this project is part of a demonstration program to promote the development of advanced IT human resources in Pakistan, focusing on IT, Japanese language and culture, and to promote their matching with Japanese companies in the field of human resource development in Pakistan.
