Discussions with University of Engineering and Technology Lahore, a Leading Public University in Pakistan
On Wednesday, September 20, we had a discussion with Dr. Asif Ali Qaiser, chairman of the Polymer and Process Engineering Department and Director of the Student Affairs Division at the University of Engineering & Technology Lahore (UET Lahore), which is a leading public university in Pakistan and has active inter-university exchange with the UK and China, and has collaborated with Microsoft and Huawei.
Mr. Shiono, Head of the Pakistan Japan Centre, and Mr. Umair, Vice Head of the Pakistan Japan Centre discussed the current urgent need for IT personnel with high technical standards and excellent communication skills in Japan. Mr. Ali, Director of the Student Affairs Division, also shared that UET Lahore is already engaged in exchanges with overseas universities and companies, and as a result, many students are motivated to work abroad. After we presented our unique IT and Japanese language education programs to boost the number of job opportunities in Japan, they showed their deep interest.
We hope that this discussion as an opportunity to further strengthen our relationship with UET Lahore and promote further expansion of opportunities for Pakistani IT professionals and Pakistani IT companies to work in Japanese companies.
This project is endorsed by METI for the “New Business Creation Promotion Support Program for DX in Emerging Countries” to promote the development of advanced IT human resources in Pakistan, focusing on IT, Japanese language and culture, and to match them with Japanese companies in the field of human resource development in Pakistan.
