Plus W, Inc. members and the Special Investment Facilitation Council of Pakistan

On September 14th (Thursday), Plus W met with Mr. Jamil Qureshi, Secretary of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (hereinafter referred to as “SIFC”), which aims to Pakistan’s economic growth and through investments, both domestic and international, in key sectors such as agriculture, mining, information technology (IT), as well as in the energy sector.

From Plus W, the meeting was attended by Mr. Horiuchi, Executive Vice President and COO, together with Mr. Shiono, Head of the Pakistan Japan Center and Mr. Umair, Vice Head of the Pakistan Japan Center. They exchanged opinions on the rapid increase in the demand for IT professionals in Japan over the past decade, and also about the growing interest in Pakistani engineers following the relaxation of the COVID restrictions. SIFC expressed strong interest in this discussion, and also made a welcoming proposal to support in the further promotion of the digitalization of Japan, through Plus W’s future collaboration with Pakistani IT companies.

Starting from this meeting, we will further promote the expansion of opportunities for Pakistani IT professionals and Pakistani IT companies to play active roles in Japanese companies.

Furthermore, based on the selection by the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) for the “New Business Creation Promotion Support Project in Emerging DX Countries”, this initiative is being implemented as part of a demonstration for the development of advanced IT professionals, with a focus on IT, Japanese language and culture, in the field of human resource development of Pakistan, as well as to promote their matching with Japanese companies.
